Our Wilderness Visit - Packages are designed to offer you an ultimate Get Away from all the hussle, stress and hurry of your daily routines. This authentic holiday will take you to the heart of one of the most remote Wilderness Areas in Finland where you will have the chance to escape all the light & sound pollution surrounding us.
We will spend 4 or 5 days in a cozy, hand-made log cabin fishing, snowshoeing, cooking & gazing the ever-so-magical Northern Lights. The location is out of the reach of most phone connections - Which will allow you to fully detach & set back, relax & enjoy your holiday!
Here you be able to witness a sky full of millions of stars, hear stories about the ancient ways of living in the area, reindeer hearding, forestry, how the plants and animals are surviving during harsh winters and you can follow close when some small birds are coming to follow our life in the cabin - A touch of true wild in a safe environment that you won't experience anywhere else in the world.
Every evening you will have an opportunity to wash in a traditional finnish Sauna - And even dip into the lake for a cold bath.
Example of a daily program;
Day 1. - Your guide will pick you up from the aiport or from your accommodation. After that we will travel by car and by snowmobile and slegde to Kessi wilderness area where our base camp will be. After reaching the destination we start heating up the cabin, make preparations for evening Sauna & Dinner as well as the next days adventures.
Day 2. - If the weather allows, we will do a full-day skiing trip to the surrounding forrest. You will experience skiing in the soft snow without any tracks to follow - And be able to make your own path. We will be able to follow wildlife this wilderness holds shelter for - Some small animals, reindeer, birds.. Evening will offer yet another possibility for Sauna & delicious Meal - And maybe ecen some Northern Lights or a bright Star-filled Sky!
Day 3.- Today`s tour will take us to lake Nammijärvi, the biggest lake in the area. You will hear some stories about how people used to permanently live in these remote houses up to 50 years ago. You will have an opportunity for ice fishing and enjoy lunch around an open fire or in of the widlerness cabins of Nammi. Sauna & Delicious Dinner awaits for you back at the cabin.
Day 4.- Last day in the wilderness. After breakfast we will make the preparations for returning back with a snowmobile. When your guide starts packing the things to the slegde you may start walking back with snow shoes if you want. You will be dropped off at your accomodation in Ivalo/Saariselkä after returning back.
We will make sure to maximize your comfort & safety during the trip - However please prepared for not having electricity or running water availble at the cabin. The cabin will be heated with wood and is guaranteed to keep you nice & warm atfer our days out in the wild. This is an experience that will offer you an opportunity to discover how it feels to slow down and learn a lifestyle many of us live & enjoy in Lapland. We have some of the cleanest waters & climate in the whole Europe and you will get a glimpse of how it feels like to live partly from the goods of nature.
